PromptShield is designed to check AI prompt drafts for sensitive information before the user sends them.

Data processed locally

PromptShield scans prompt text locally inside the user's browser. Prompt text is not sent to PromptShield servers.

Local storage

PromptShield may store local event metadata in Chrome local storage so the user can review recent checks. This metadata can include:

• Event creation time
• Page URL
• Risk level
• Finding types
• Finding severity
• Redaction placeholder labels

PromptShield does not intentionally store the full prompt text in its local event history.

Network transmission

PromptShield does not make network requests to collect, sell, or share user prompt content.

Host permissions

PromptShield requests access only to supported AI chat websites so it can scan visible prompt input fields on those pages:

• chatgpt.com
• chat.openai.com
